Share with us your favorite season of the year and why?
My absolute favorite season is fall. There is something about it that is so magnificent. I love the cooler air and the gorgeous colors. I love that in fall we have so many special things we do as a family. Every year I take the girls to the apple orchard and to Saunders Farm a local pumpkin patch that is the coolest place on earth. And then there's Halloween. The kids love Halloween, but for me it is an important day to celebrate. You see I was adopted on Halloween day back in 1981. So it is so special, I always get my parents flowers to say thank you to them for taking me and loving me. Ahhh fond memories of fall.

Creative Therapy - Catalyst Two
Here's catalyst number two : A place you go to find your center. It can be imaginary or real or anything in between.
2 Peas Monday Blogger Challenge
Do you print all your pics and have them on hand to scrap. Or do you wait to print them as you need them?
Ever since getting my digital camera all my photos are kept on my computer. I have about 4 or 5 G of pics saved on my hard drive. Since digital scrapbooking I really haven't been printing hardly any pics. I just play with them in Photoshop and then re-save them on my computer. You know, I really should make a point of getting them printed. I love being able to physically look at old pictures.

Creative Therapy - Catalyst One
Came across this incredible blog called Creative Therapy . There is so much confusion going on in my head these days that I thought some of these challenges might help me to clear out some of that junk. Catalyst one challenge is " something that you lost. It could be something good like weight loss, or terrible like a person, or heartbreaking like a friendship. " So here's my layout on something I lost.
Some New Pages
I used a kit by Pepete found here as soon as I saw this kit I knew I wanted to use it for this specific photo.
Yesterday I was bored and so I started looking through all my scrapbooking books. I spent a long time looking through 52 Scrapbooking Challenges by Elsie Flannigan. Here's my take on challenge #1 I chose to scraplift her layout.

Revisiting the Effer Dares
This morning I was remembering how popular the effer dares once were so I googled them. As I was reading through some of the past dares I kept thinking that they were great page starters. So off I went opening up Photoshop and away I went. Here's what I came up with for Dare #1:

Give Me Five Monday (Birthdays)
Here's today's prompt: Give Me Five birthday memories from your life or of someone else. Hmmm let's see I usually have uneventful;l birthdays I really do not enjoy them at all. I guess the ones I can remember the best are:
My 18th birthday - we went into Ottawa for supper a ta really fancy restaurant. My parents and grandparents came and so did my boyfriend at the time Mike. I remember sending out invitations and getting all dressed up and I remember getting my picture taken with one of those silly paper napkin hats. It was so much fun and I felt really grown up.
My 21st birthday was when I was working at the Smiths Falls Restaurant. One of the cooks was celebrating his birthday too so we all went to a bar in Kemptville. I drank and I drank and I drank. Shooter after shooter. I remember having tequila, snake bites and some chocolaty thing. The owner of the restaurant bought us drinks and told us we all had to show up for our shifts the next day cause he knew we were all out drinking. I was so sick when I finally got home. I went in for my shift the next day at 4 and could hardly keep down tea and crackers. I oddly also remember Randy kissing my husband.
My 30th birthday was pretty cool too - a real family day. The girls and I went and spent the day at Saunders farm and had a blast. Then we drove into Perth to meet my parents for dinner at my absolutely most favorite restaurant Maximilian's. An absolute fantastic day. I got my girls, my parents and my favorite meal all in one day.

I have been feeling like completing some challenges lately over at Two Peas in a Bucket . It is seriously my favorite scrapbooking website that I have ever come across. It has almost everything I want all in one spot. I was editing my profile there yesterday and was surprised to see that I have been a member of Two Peas since 2002.
Anyways, yesterday I came across this challenge Color Combo Challenge #89 and their blog!! Too cool!So here's the colors for challenge #89 - The colors are aqua, butterscotch, baby blue and fever pink.
And here's my take on these colors:

Just some rambling this morning
Well it has been a busy and kinda crappy week so far - thank goodness it's almost over.
The other day I picked the girls up from school and not even five minutes away from the school my damn van broke down. Started chugging then just died. Of coarse I didn't have my cell phone with me and so I had to walk up the side of the highway with two crying scared kids to find a phone. Not fun at all. Actually it really sucked. We ended up having to tow the van back to my place and right now have no clue what's wrong with it. Gord is going to take a look at it when he gets back off the road. Until then I am without a vehicle. I guess I have just gotten so used to having a vehicle at my disposal that it really sucks now that I can't just hop into my van whenever I need to do something. I hate asking people for rides or help getting my girls to and from school. I like to rely on myself and no one else. So asking for help is a hard thing for me to do.
I had an appointment yesterday with a counsellor about my anxiety and depression. She was wonderful, just listened and then offered some really great advice. She also enrolled me in a pilot program for single moms. It's a support group that deals with parenting issues (looks at both how you were parented and how you parent your kids), looks at anxiety and depression and addiction. I am really hoping I can get something out of this group. I know I am at a place where I need help and support and have had no clue before now where to go to get the help I need. Like I said, hopefull it helps.

The coolest mail ever
Yesterday I got the coolest mail ever!! Last month I posted on my blog my list of 32 things to do before I turn 33. One of the items on that list was to take my girls to Saunder's Farm again this year. I have taken my girls there the past 8 years. It is like a little tradition we have every fall around Thanksgiving. Well shortly after my post I received the absolute nicest email from the people at Saunders Farm telling me that they had come across my blog and thanking me for the mention of their farm. In yesterday's mail I received the nicest note and a family pass to the farm. I usually go on Thanksgiving Weekend so we will definitely be going again this year. I just think that the people who own the farm are the sweetest - they even asked me to let them know when we arrive. I am so excited to take the girls back this year!!

I am so excited...
Yesterday I posted a question on the two peas message board asking for some help with using templates with PSCS3 and I got some answers real quick. I was trying to figure out how to do clipping masks but had no idea what it was called to be able to search it. Well, once I learned what it was called I was off to the races to try out this new technique. Here's as page I did using clipping masks to make my photo into the circle. I love this!!

2 Peas Wednesday Blogger Challenge 10/09/08
Please feel free to join us if you have a blog. Challenge~ What is something you would love to find at an antique shop?
Journaling reads: I love going to antique shops to just look around and think about all the possibilities for what I see. I love looking for milk cans and old saws and saw blades when I am browsing the antique stores. I believe this is because I look at them and imagine what I could tole paint on them. Simple pleasures.

I've Been missing In Action
Well folks, after a month of no Internet I am back. With lots to share. This past month has been so busy for us here. We went on a trip to Toronto to Canada's Wonderland & the Zoo. It was so fun - awesome actually - watch for posts coming soon with photos of the trip. Also, with no Internet I had lots of time to create. I actually accomplished 30 digital layouts. These will be coming as well. I started a new job a few weeks ago working overnights at Walmart. I've had a rough start to it and am having a very hard time adjusting to nights and to not being here for the girls. My life seems to be in chaos right now but hopefully with back to school a routine will develop and things will settle down. Hopefully.
