What's going through my head ... right now

There is just so much going through my head tonight I had to try and put it down somewhere so I can stop thinking so much. Here's what's running around in my head:

#1 - Just discovered Amber (my oldest) has an absolute love for National Geographic. She and I have just had the best hour sitting down on the couch cuddling and pouring through my latest National Geographic magazine. She looked seriously at each and ever picture and wanted me to read all the captions. It was amazing watching the passion and interest coming out in her. Don't know why I never thought to do this sooner. She seems to have a fascination with what else there is in the world.

#2 - I am a slob!! I'm not meaning just a little slob I mean a huge gigantic like my house is a right-off slob. My new boyfriend Gord spent over an hour with me today tackling my kitchen. It was my mess - not his but he still wanted to be here to help me clean it up because he knew it was stressing me out. What a sweetheart. Man I am falling more and more in love with him everyday.

#3 - Gord left after dinner tonight for Wisconsin in the truck. He should be back Friday but I do worry about him all alone on the road. I'll be wishing for him to come home safely.

#4 I am still in awe over the kittens. I could seriously sit and watch the relationship developing between them and Zoey. They are all doing well and have had a quiet day feeding and sleeping. One little guy tried climbing out of their bed though but Zoey watched it closely. Too cute.

My Zoey had her kittens...

Well I am pleased to announce that our family has just grown by 4 new members. Our cat Zoey had her kittens on Monday night. I have loved Zoey since the minute I saw her in the pet store. Her coloring is beautiful but that's not just it. There was something about her that just tugged on my heart and I had to have her. Zoey has been my constant companion - there with me when times are good or bad. Always at my side. She ripped the window screen a couple of months ago and ran away - came home pregnant. At first I was ticked because I had only wanted her to be an indoor cat and I did not want more cats but as she grew and I watched her change I developed a whole new appreciation for her. In front of my eyes she was becoming a little mommy with living things moving inside her. it was almost magical watching her grow and change. I have a whole new appreciation for her after watching her give birth. She did so good and instantly took to mothering the kittens. There are 4 new kittens in all - one with her coloring on the back with white around her front legs, one is a beige-orange color, one black with white around it's nose and white stripes across it's back and one that is mostly black with a little white. They are so adorable, so tiny... so beautiful. My girls are so excited and have been asking non-stop when they can play with the kittens. They have each already picked the one they are keeping and have already named them. I told the girls that they could each keep one and that we would give the others away to good homes. Each moment I watch them though, I fall in love with each and every one of them. I think by the end it may be almost impossible to give any away. I thought I loved Zoey so much already but now I love her even more - I love seeing her in the role of mommy.

The Reason My Zoey Ran Away

Zoey is just the cutest cat we have ever had. She is about a year old and is still so tiny. She is such an affectionate cat, she loves to cuddle with anyone who will pay attention to her.. Zoey has always been an indoor cat. Needless to say I have never had her fixed because I have never let her outside. That is until she met the cat in the picture. He comes and sits outside our window and meows to her. The two of them will lie beside each other, one on each side of the screen for hours. That is until this past weekend. You see I think Zoey is in love. Zoey decided she didn't like mommy's rules of staying inside any longer and so she broke a hole through the screen so she could run away with her little boyfriend. She came home, I fixed the screen, and the next night she broke through and ran away again. Now mommy is just waiting to see if little kittens are on their way. Kittens is definitely not what I planned for, but at least they'll make cute subjects for photos.
